Early scent training and handling
From 3 days of age the puppies are handled in specific ways so that when they are older they are not upset but being handled, for example drying their feet after a walk.
Smells are introduced that might commonly be encountered. Here we are introducing the smell of a nappy bucket! Cat nip, tooth paste, smelly socks, apples and cinnamon have already been ticked off the list.
Although their ears are closed we have started playing noises that commonly upset dogs eg cat meowing videos.
Training sessions are carefully curated to cause minimal stress, only one novel thing is introduced at a time and the puppies are straight back with mum so that their bodies learn how to cope with an adrenaline rush.

Day 13 we have one open eye!

And the first attempt at standing

15 days old; Uh oh here comes trouble

Day 20 and they've discovered each others ears and tails for playing tug with

Day 24 and we've started playing with noisy baby toys to get puppies used to random loud bangs.

Everyday I gentle run the clippers over them then return them to mum. This should ensure their lasting association with clippers is a good one. Im using a spacer so I don't actually cut the hair!

4 weeks of age; First meal!
rosie will be please as they all have teeth now.
All the puppies were microchipped a few days ago. It's a legal requirement the puppy is microchipped before sale and that the new owner keep the details up to date if they change phone numbers or move house.

4 weeks of age and we've introduced a cage and a litter tray. Success!

Nearly 5 weeks old
one puppy has ventured outside
and I've swapped the whelping box for a cage so they now sleep in the cage

Week 7 car training

Week 7 taking it in turns to have one on one time with mum

Some of them are choosing to go outside to toilet, some are whining at the door to go out too
